If you have an independent film or are in the process of making your film - listen up! Although it may be the last thing on your mind while you’re making a film it is very important to start to build your audience from day one. How are you going to do that? Put your social hat on and start promoting your film through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr – anywhere that you feel will grow your audience. Upload pictures, videos and what’s happening behind the scenes so that your followers begin to feel a connection with the film. Your friends and family will always be your number one supporters so also get them to share your social media pages. If you do not market your film throughout the filmmaking process then once your film is complete and ready for the public, the responsibility of selling your film still remains.
