If you have/had suffered from Anxiety or DP/DR, check this out. I dont normally post like this on here but I just figured someone might benefit. I started getting anxiety (bad anxiety) roughly about 5 years ago. The thing I noticed most was how I used to dwell about the person I was before Anxiety and the person I am now. I would constantly think I cant believe Im having these thoughts. I was never like this before. I wish I could go back to who I was before. Then Im sitting there trying to create the person I was before. Before it was natural, you werent thinking about it. If youre trying to be something, its a lot harder. Its like breathing - its natural. When you start thinking about it though, you notice how it gets harder. Stop focusing about the person you were before, that person is gone. You are a new person now. You are setting yourself up for success if you can move forward. Youve kind of gone through this great trial and now youre a new person -- you have new experiences, new emotions, and a new outlook on life. All of that stuff makes you much stronger than before. If you can get through anxiety, you can get through anything (at least in my mind). If you have Depersonalization and Derealization, the type of anxiety I suffer from from time to time, you know how quickly it can get you down. Its not 100% gone but its getting there because Ive developed new skills to throw it on the ground and step on it. My emotions happen and I cant control that but I can control the outcome. You have to put yourself up and you have to build yourself up. If you want to be someone great, be someone great, because you are someone great. The thoughts that bring you down are not factual.. just emotional. Anxiety is just a wall you have to knock down.
