If you have to tighten a nose band to keep a horse from evading - TopicsExpress

If you have to tighten a nose band to keep a horse from evading the bit, there is a problem. Not with the horse but with the bit or your hands. Active, constantly moving hands encourage a horse to evade the bit. Using your hands to balance also teaches bit evasion. A bit too thick, or large, or with too much port etc can also cause evasion. Quite hands are a blessing. Best of all is no bit. I hate a dentist mucking around in my mouth. I can just imagine what my horse thinks with the bit!
