If you own a piece of property, in a state of liberty you can do whatsoever you want to on that property. Build a house upside down, inside out, even rig it to explode with you in it... The state has no lawful authority to interfere with you because you have done NOTHING to harm another. If you want to put your pistol in your mouth and blow the back of your head off, the government has no authority to say otherwise... again, no other person was harmed and you have the LIBERTY to exercise your free will. Both of those examples are extreme, intentionally so, in order to illustrate my point. Liberty cannot exist in a world where the law is imposed on one individual or group at the behest of another individual or group. in America the rights of the INDIVIDUAL are protected from invasion from the whole... The SOLE legitimate purpose of government in America is to secure our rights... protect me from you and you from me. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.— That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, . . . - Declaration of Independence, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1776. How many of you can illustrate in the comments below where the legislatures are imposing their will on the people in direct contravention of our natural rights? You may be very surprised at the length this thread will take if you put some thought into this.
