If you remember old fashioned spring cleaning when your mother warned you the day before that you had to get up early because they were cleaning. On that morning at the crack of dawn, all the windows and doors were opened, winter drapes came down, beds were stripped, rugs rolled up, mattresses flipped and maybe even moved to the outside to air. Once everything had been scrubbed, washed, polished and shined, it was put back together with the furniture in the summer arrangement (to catch the breeze), linens fresh from outside drying were put on the beds, and summer curtains were hung. NOW spring could happen and summer followed, because Mom had declared it thru this mind boggling and physically exhausting ritual.
