If you travel enough miles you will eventually find spring. It had arrived Saturday in Madill, Oklahoma as Buck Cattle Company held its XVIII Spring Edition sale. A strong set of fancy young show prospects from all breeds were offered in the sale, which will be competitive at the respective national shows around the country. The results were exceptional as Buck Cattle held one of its best ever spring sales with the 70, 2013 heifer calves grossing $892,800 to average $12,754. The top selling heifer was a purebred Maine Anjou heifer sired by I80, Lot # 14, BK AIM HIGH 3014 - this sharp profiling, September heifer sold for $76,000. The top selling Hereford heifer calf was Lot # 50, BKWF AMETHYST 3050 - this deep sided, heavy boned September heifer calf, produced by one of Bailey Bucks most successful former show heifers, sold for $60,000. Congratulations to the Jirl Buck family and all of his cooperators in making this a great sale.
