COURSE OBJECTIVES Political Science 202 The objectives of this course are to provide the student with a better understanding of the history and operation of our political system, and of the various factors and forces which are at play in our country. Those factors include the nature of our economic system, social institutions, and the global context within which American politics operates as well as the impact of our policies on other parts of the world. It is also hoped that the student will come to better understand his or her own political position; its strengths, weaknesses, implications and alternatives and that this may result in some critical consideration by each of us of where we stand.
