If your artists are *not* consistently being booked for $1500+ - TopicsExpress

If your artists are *not* consistently being booked for $1500+ every week, then there is no reason a manager should be interfering with your bookings. If you cant pull over 15 paid guests on your own to a show in a place thatd be considered a local booking, you shouldnt have a manager... If you have an agent and arent getting over 8 high-paying gigs per month. You shouldnt have an agent. If youre a DJ and youre playing shit because its popular or you can take a video of yourself playing it and send it to the person who produced it to get brownie points or network, as you call it - You should not be playing outside of your bedroom. If you arent living off your passion project / hobby, take up something different or work harder (or pay someone like myself or Mr. XYZ or Mr. ABC for artist consulting). Youre a product of your environment.. Surround yourself with bullshitters & hypemen and youll become one without even realizing it. Dont get sucked in. Dont be a sucker. Dont be a buster. Dont be a mark. err where was I going with this?~ Nowhere really, I just have been disappointed a few times today with poor representation that doesnt have the artists best interest in mind.. (Its like being a brand rep for a brand you dont believe in). Along with mixes that have shit that is completely off the wall being slipped in for the pure purpose of adding value to a tracklist and being able to mention/link pitch the track to the producer(s) via social media... Rappers using unauthorized beats for remixing then adding said accomplish producer to track credits to gain some clout.. People begging and fighting for a microphone, only to have it for 3 minutes and completely bomb for what seemed to be an eternity.. Trainwreck transitions, Oh yeah, and throwing subpar events creating waste with your promotional paper gum crumbles and spamming everyones inbox, phone, and social media accounts is just as bad as becoming a photographer to get laid.. annnd If your supposed friends, are your friends theyll come out, support, pay the cover, buy some drinks/food, find you in a packed room, and make sure they show their face in exchange for you providing a platform for them to experience something different. If your free events are packed, but your paid events are empty, you may also wanna consider the exit stage left route as well. arrhgjkhashd Im gonna lose it. hah love you all :)
