If your spouse is fasting with you, praying with you, encouraging - TopicsExpress

If your spouse is fasting with you, praying with you, encouraging you to read Quran, offering to watch the kids so you can go to Tarawih, delaying the suhoor with you and hastening to break the fast with you, and just overall being an AWESOME MUSLIM PARTNER...then be grateful and consider yourself among the blessed. There are many who are married to partners on a completely different spiritual path than them. Their Ramadan openings, accomplishments, and struggles are completely their own. They have no partner to talk to about the power of a verse or a hadith they heard. They have no partner to share their tears with at the bounty of Allah (swt). They have no partner to support, encourage or inspire them, or who truly understands what they are going through. They have no partner to stand next to them in prayer. They wake for suhoor by themselves and celebrate the joy of iftar by themselves. Indeed, there are many who are very lonely this month despite being surrounded by the sounds and footsteps of others. May Allah (swt) make it easy for them and guide their partners. Ameen. Look to your spouse today, isolate a moment at some point and just look at them. Dont look to what they are doing or not doing. Dont look past them or see through them. Just look AT them, admire their faithful eyes, hands, and feet. Admire their hearts that worship Allah (swt) as surrendered, humble, and pious servants. And in that beautiful moment of reflection, feel an immense gratitude to your Lord who deemed you worthy of a union blessed with the mutual respect, awe, and sweetness of iman. May Allah (swt) protect all such beautiful marriages, guide those who are already married to strive for such beautiful marriages, and bless all who are single with such beautiful marriages. Ameen. #blessedunions #spiritualspouses
