If you’re a parent, you are definitely in the midst of “Frozen mania”. I’m pretty sure I’ve watched the movie a hundred times; my daughter sings all of the songs and we often dress up as the characters – she is always Elsa and I am always Anna. So you can imagine how excited I was when my client asked me to do a Frozen-themed birthday party for her daughter. There is so much inspiration to pull from for the favors! If you know my work, you know that I always like to include an edible treat for the kids as well as a craft in the favors. For this set, I made delicious “Arendelle” snow using white cotton candy that was labelled with stickers in matching colors, and created an edible Olaf kit for an equally sweet craft. I put different sized marshmallows in a bag to create his body, and added pretzels for his arms, mini chocolate chips for his buttons and a candy corn for his nose. Whether constructed laying down without adhesive, or upright with toothpicks and frosting, I’m sure these edible Olafs will be as much fun to make as they will be to eat. I also wanted to give the kids a fun keepsake they could continue to play with over time, so I created a custom Frozen bingo set for each child to play with. In each set I included 4 bingo playing cards, a set of 24 caller cards, and 64 bingo markers – all hand cut. I love when favors last well after the party day is over, so to top it all off I added 2 snowflake-shaped crayons and a set of snowflake stickers the kids could use to decorate their own items at home.
