If you’ve been on the internet, ESPN, or NFL network, then you’ve probably already started seeing 2014 mock drafts. It seems as if everybody thinks a little differently when it comes to these mock drafts. Of course a lot of them will start changing once the dominoes start falling in free agency. I’ll be looking at some options the Baltimore Ravens could take with their first pick in the draft. The Ravens followed up the 2012 Super Bowl winning campaign with a disappointing 8-8 2013 season. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, especially when you lose players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Anquan Boldin. Despite a lot of flaws, the Ravens still had a chance to sneak into the playoffs in the last week but ultimately fell short. There is a great sense of optimism though as the cupboard isn’t entirely bare in Baltimore. During the Ravens annual postseason press conference, general manager Ozzie Newsome identified three needs the Ravens must address for the upcoming season: Fixing the interior offensive line, a receiver that can consistently move the chains and an athletic ball hawking safety. The Ravens will likely address a few of these things in free agency and draft the best available player, which is a staple of the franchise. The following six players are all legitimate options for the Ravens to take with their No. 16 or No. 17 pick, pending the coin flip with the Dallas Cowboys. Enjoy the show and don’t look at too many mock drafts in the meantime. -The Raven Chronicles
