Ignorance is the leading cause of breed discrimination. Being someone that has had the honor of being touched by the pit bull breed, I am fully entitled to inform anyone that will listen that these goofy and lovable creatures are not a viscous breed of dog. Similar to children, it is all the parents. A dogs owner is the biggest influence in their behavior and demeanor. I spend everyday with two pit bulls that I am not afraid to shove my hands in their mouths in fear that Ill get bitten, but covered in kisses. Dont judge a book by its cover. Look around you and have an open heart. Let this misunderstood breed have a chance to live. This is coming from someone that has had bad experiences with pit bulls. There are always bad eggs in a group, but you cant hold it against an entire breed, or even race. There are two types of aggression, induced and genetic. Induced aggression from abuse and neglect can be reversed in moments. Genetic aggression is found in EVERY breed of dog. NOT JUST PIT BULLS. The most amount of dog bites are actually from golden retrievers. Take a moment and absorb that one. Hm. I am momentarily stepping from my soapbox, thank you.
