@ Ike Who are we- our journey 14 billion years ? @ Sentient life can evolve from anything. “A bird doesnt sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” No, sentient life is not easy, we have not yet discovered single cellular life anywhere in our sojourns in the outer space. We are sentient star dust, now conscious enough to send Hubble and make LHC to discover two extremes of our existence. That is our pride!! If there was no carbon, there would be no life, there would be no DNA, we would not have existed, we still dont know how DNA came in existence, how life became life? Darwinian natural selection as DNA reproduced eliminated the random errors this is how the survival of the species was ensured. We are deciphering moment of our birth as we try to go through the opaque period of the first 300 m years of our Big Bang and discovering the Higgs Bison in the lab, the particle gives mass to everything. When the universe began in the Big Bang, about 14 billion years ago. there was no carbon. The original hydrogen and helium was burnt into heavier elements, such as carbon, oxygen, and iron. This took few hundred million years. When these supernovas, exploded they sprinkled the heavy elements back into space, to form the raw material for later generations of stars like our sun. This is how our solar system was formed about four and a half billion years ago, or about ten billion years after the Big Bang, from gas tainted with the remains of earlier dead stars. The Earth was formed largely out of the heavier elements, including carbon and oxygen. Somehow, some of these atoms came to be arranged in the form of molecules of DNA. We still do not know how DNA molecules first appeared. The formation of something like DNA, which could reproduce itself, is extremely unlikely. The process of biological evolution took two and a half billion years, to evolve from the earliest cells to multi-cell animals, and another billion years to evolve through fish and reptiles, to mammals. evolution speeded up as it only took about a hundred million years, to develop from the early mammals to us. The cause is, fish contain most of the important human organs, and mammals, essentially all of them. All that was required to evolve from early mammals, like lemurs, to humans, was a bit of fine-tuning. But with the human race, evolution reached a critical stage, comparable in importance with the development of DNA. This was ...the moment.. we are on a fast track..
