Ill try to make a long story short, Rafe Kelley 32 years of age. I was lucky enough to have a basically free range childhood at the end of a dirt road, filled with tree climbing, bike riding, roughhousing, back yard trampolining, woods traipsing and stick fighting. I started martial arts at age 6 and accumulated something like ten years while actively in classes, plus a great deal of independent practice, primary backgrounds are in Muay thai, and Brazilian Jujitsu. I started recreational gymnastics at 18 and did that till I was 25. At 23 I discovered Parkour, and absolutely fell in love with it, it opened my eyes to being able to move in the world around me. A year later I become aware of Methode Naturelle and was immediately attracted to the idea of a broader spectrum more nature focused practice. I was first introduced to Idos work by Scott Hagnass in 2010 at the time I was in recovery from a torn achilles, so Idos joint prep protocols made a big impression on me. As well as the Florieo and Breakfalling work. I have gone back to two seminars since then. I had thought of my own approach as an evolution on physical culture and when I heard Ido use the term movement culture it struck me as the best description not just for his approach but for what I was doing and allot of other people I admired. Currently I do isolated weight lifting, gymnastics strength, and mobility work as well as taking capoeira classes to support my own movement research in locomotion, dance, and combatives in natural environments. This my video from last summer which is focused on just the parkour and acrobatic elements of my practice. Ill nominate, Michael Banaag, Simon Thakur and Travis Lee
