Im 59 this year, all my life Ive been promised that if I work, pay my stamp and contribute through tax, at 65 Ill be able to retire and the government will help me through paying a pension. But theyve mismanaged the countrys finances so badly thats all changed, and the point at which I can expect anything from them is getting further and further away - effectively theyre hoping Ill die first - and to help that theyre also expecting us to work until we just cant work no more! So today we have Pensioner Bonds - Government-backed annuities in effect and theyre trying to persuade me to buy in (presumably using my private pension funds and savings) to a State run income source for my old age. Im sorry folks, but Ive done that for 40 years plus already, and its looking less and less like Ill ever see any of my money back - and as far as voluntarily giving any more of my money to the same useless buggers who made such a mess of the finances in the first place is concerned - caught once - shame on you, caught twice - shame on me! You can take your Pensioner Bonds and shove them up your super-annuated arses!
