Im Dan, 22, from Angmering I took Engineering NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2 in Engineering Principles at your Northbrook campus 3 or 4 years ago, which have both proved to be invaluable qualifications. In my career so far I have used the skills that I gained with Northbrook to achieve a great deal, going from Apprentice Bench Fitter in my family businesss workshop whilst studying for my NVQ and C&G Level 2s one day a week at Northbrook College Broadwater, to a Ventilation Engineer and Installer once I was qualified. My current position is Junior CAD Technician, Specifier, Engineer and Purchaser for an architectural and structural glass company. I hold Northbrook College, and my tutor in particular, responsible for my success at work - Northbrook encouraged me to do better, to try more difficult things, to keep learning, even between lessons, and to ask more, better quality questions - even if they are not exactly relevant to the task at hand! He even suggested I take a CSCS test. Even though I didnt quite see the relevance or possibilities at the time, a year and a half later I was incredibly glad I took his advice, as it helped me attain the Ventilation Engineer & Installer role with a brilliant local company, working up and down the UK, in amazing and diverse places like Chelsea training ground, Kings Cross Train Station, Cambridge Bioscience Institute and the largest ASDA cold distribution center in the UK, in Dartford. I now design architectural and structural frameless glass screens, frameless doors, partitions and balustrades for heritage, domestic, commercial and architectural customers, for places like the Tate gallery and a large number of churches and listed buildings. I thought this would be the best thank you I could give Northbrook for my education! Dan
