Im a part of a huge online community of writers. In this community, there are moderators who operate sort of as private judges. You send them a sample of what you write and they tell you where youre making laughable mistakes to any experienced writer. I am uneducated in writing. I do things my own way. This is partly attitude. My book, Deep Red, spends five pages establishing whats going on and why. I often engage the reader directly, like in this line from Chapter 3. ----------------------------- Now you may think Velian doesnt care. But Velian wouldnt care what you think. Does that make you right? Or does he know something you dont? Truth is, I dont know, and Im basically God in his world. So next time you have a mind-bending hallucination for some reason, summon him and ask him. Im curious, too. ---------------------------- Anyhow, I sent 5 mods the sample I put together. I got one response. Nael, There is no right and wrong in the world of art. There are of course, techniques and styles, disciplines and experience. You claim to lack the latter two of those four items, and I believe you. Your narrative structure in particular is very clumsy. But your techniques and styles seem to flow. As you learn and evolve, try not to spend too much time repairing what youve made and how youre making it. This is a very refreshing, new, and edgy universe youve created and your words have a cleverness to them I encourage you to keep. Keep writing. Just keep writing. You could be big.
