Im a proud new owner of a 2011 Fender Telecaster Classic Series 60s Tele. After switching from a cheap Franken-strat, I am overwhelmed with the quality of the instrument. After doing my research, I chose to take 3 teles off the wall, play all 3 while blindfolded, and choose the one I liked the best. The three were: the Fender Red 60s Tele, a 2012 Fender sunburst American Standard, and a Squier classic vibe. Immediately, I set the Squier aside as I didnt like the feel. But I couldnt find any real difference in feel or tone. So I chose the cheaper. Its now my favourite guitar to play. So, my question to you all is - have you tried the blindfold test? What were your results? Does anyone prefer the Mexican made teles over the Americans? And vice versa? Why? Inquiring minds want to know :) open for discussion
