Im a salesman. That means I work for you. I go on interviews 7 to 10 times a week hoping you hire me. 60% of the time I dont get hired for the job. Im a purist, entrepreneurial salesman which means I created a job for myself by interviewing myself first in order to gauge whether or not I had what it takes to grind it out on behalf of others when they hire me to go to work. Ive been told no most of the time my entire life and that just makes me smile because I know that every no I get means Im one step closer to a yes. Sometimes the shoes on the other foot and when I say yes they love me and when I say no they suddenly dont know me. Not me. Ill never forget you. My memory is long and my appreciation of your trust in me is limitless. Im a salesman, Im looking for a job everyday. Add things up at the end of the month and Im a hero, but by the 1st of the month Im back to zero. I wouldnt be doing my job as a salesman if I didnt ask you to hire me to work for you. Im a salesman and proud of my profession. Its the second oldest profession in the world and one of the most rewarding, in my humble opinion. Its given me the opportunity to break bread and be in relationship with people from all walks of life. When its raining Im on the phones. When its sunny Im hitting the streets, interviewing and looking to get hired. Im following in my fathers profound and hallowed footsteps. Im a salesman.~Eliot
