Im about 5 days behind on the whole thankful thing. So here goes - #1 - Im thankful that we live in a country that has peaceful transitions of power. No machetes. No genocide. No poisoning of a cousin so he doesnt inherit the kingdom. No locking nephews in towers to keep them out of the way while you take over their kingdom. No military coups. No riots in the streets. (unless a sports team wins or loses, which is another story entirely) Im thankful for all of the men and women over the course of about 500 years who laid the groundwork for our system of government, piece by tiny piece.
