Im an original rules gamer and am curiously listening to this talk that seems to make drones of high value now. I refer to old anti-drone tactics: e.g. Klingon vs Kzinti. Assuming the Kzin wants to upgrade to speed 32 drones and perhaps better racks, I play Klingon and agree so long as I can also modify mine. I have 2 regular racks that I change to the ones that launch 2 per turn and convert 2 ADD racks to the same type. I load 3 racks with 8 original dogfight drones and the third with 4 dogfight and one doublesize, speed 32, ECM drone. Not much point increase for me but now I launce 6 dogfight drones to destroy his incoming drones. Now I simply go and blow the Kzin away. If Im Hydran or whatever, I just ensure that I have fighters carrying the dogfight drones. Of course, I keep a T bomb option to roll out the shuttle bay if too many drones chase me. Soooooooo - Do rules changes obviate these tactics???
