Im doing my best not to argue politics, I really am (my apologies ahead of time) -- but if I read another post about our country having somehow become Socialist Im going to puke. You must be kidding! Does anyone anymore even know what Socialism actually is? Well here goes -- Ill help you out! Socialism is when the GOV owns & administers the entity that is providing the goods/services and whereupon it provides those goods/services to its citizens at a steep discount to market. Medicare takes money from private citizens through payroll taxes and transfers those funds to PRIVATE healthcare providers. Medicaid effectively does the same. Obamacare provides a tax break to folks who purchase PRIVATE insurance through exchanges. So can somebody please find me some Socialism? If anything we have quite the opposite. Besides if weve had supposed Socialism in this country -- then the wealthy elite must be jumping for joy because their fortunes have grown astronomically since the early 1980s when compared to that of the shrinking Middle Class. Ironically the ONLY socialized component to healthcare we have in America is the VA -- which not only pays for the services, but also owns the distribution/facilities for said healthcare.
