Im dropping one of my many slides for a quick teaser/spoiler for Thursday nights talk. Framing is REALLY expensive. My paintings are big, and they literally cost around $300.00-600.00 to frame. What if you dont even sell the painting or what if you cant command a high price and are splitting it 50/50 with a gallery? Im putting here one of my solutions for showing paintings without framing that costs around $15.00 and looks more contemporary and cooler than a frame (in my opinion). There are tons of little things like framing that are actually a lot more of a hassle than I would have thought prior to getting involved in showing my work in galleries. Ill be giving lots of detailed tips and tricks about how to get through to and talk with galleries, what is required for different types of shows and all sorts of stuff.... The AMAZING Derek Ring is going to give a demo next month and we can talk about anyone else whos open to talk. Its not always easy for naturally shy artist types so maybe we can find work arounds for those of you who have a lot to share, but dont like the crowds (completely understandable).
