Im exactly 1 month into my new job, and busier than ever. I got a request this week from a man in Florida to do some sleuthing in order to find his grandparents obituaries in our local paper. The only info he gave me was their names, where they used to live, and that they passed away in the 1950s. After searching on Ancestry and in our citys dusty local directories, I narrowed down month and date of death, and found not only his grandparents information, but his great aunt, including her high school yearbook photo from the 1930s. Today, he emailed me a thank you, telling me that his wife of 40 years recently passed away very unexpectedly after they both moved to Florida, and that he now lives by himself with his dog. He said that together, they were trying to piece together their past - and he included a picture of his dog in the email. That makes my entire week totally worth it.
