Im exhilarated to start Fall 2014 with you all! Now that Josh Shimabukuro, John Douglas Linford, Andreas Dunn, and Anmol Mirakhur have assumed leadership and responsibility for the Economics Club, I am able to focus on evolving the SJSU Economics Alumni Association. Joe Coleman, Lydia Ortega, and I began discussing its beginnings in late 2013, but proper resources were hard to come by at the time. During this past year, we have gained support from a host of well-established alumni, along with demonstrated interest from vital contacts. I am applying the SJSU Economics Alumni Assoc. for recognition of tax exemption this week; in other words--we are in the process of turning this new concept into an official non-profit organization. I am writing you all today because this is the BEST time to get involved (early on, of course!). There will be tremendous intrinsic benefits for those who are willing to commit to ensuring the success of this organization. The MARGINAL BENEFITS of joining once this organization has been well established will be significantly less than the benefits you could be enjoying by helping to spearhead this formation.
