Im frying Michael Berry some chicken....sometimes your mind just seems to wander....well in this month of Thanksgiving...my mind went back to my first three patients as I ventured into the medical side of my career 14 years ago...the first was a 16 year old who was ejected from a vehicle in which he and his friends were riding...he suffered a TBI and ended up paralyzed from the waist down, the second was a 30 year old school teacher with two small children who suffered an aneurysm, and the third was a young lady in her late 20s who jumped from a second floor window in a house fire. Her children died and she was left paralyzed.....Im not sure where any of the three are today, but Im thankful for the progress they made when I saw them. Im praying that God continues to bless them as only he can! Thank you Lord for a reasonable portion of health and strength....help me not to take the small things for granted! Okay...having a moment....Id better go check on the chicken! #grateful #takingnothingforgranted
