Im getting a small glimpse of how crazy our health care system is, specifically the incredible beaurocratic layering of the insurance companies. The armies of people being employed to answer phones (or not) and tappity-tap on keyboard to only forward your call to the next sub-sub-sub specialty division is surely a tragic wonder of the modern world (not tragic that ppl are employed of course, but tragic that they are being paid to essential accomplish NOTHING in support of an unnecessarily complex hierarchy, surely adding to the cost of health care). And I have it good: luckily Im not dealing with a debilitating illness (yet! That may change if Im on hold too long...), and I dont have a traditional day job so I can actually make these calls, and STILL it has taken me nearly two weeks to get NOWHERE, even while knowing exactly what I need and knowing that Im covered in writing.
