Im going to gather together my 50 pet peeve missing freeway links and post them here in no particular order. Each one of them is, in my opinion, an Exhibit A demonstrating that some folks just do not understand that, in order for a freeway system to be fully functional, it must have rational connections to the freeways around it. Pretty much all of these links were proposed in some form or another and then cancelled or simply walked away from by the responsible DOT in the face of local opposition. I dont mean to flame anyone by posting these, but as far as Im concerned, anyone responsible for the failure to construct them is a complete idiot. My lines are not meant to imply a particular right-of-way. They are simply notional- the freeway link should go in a place near to it that makes engineering and design sense, is environmentally most sound, and best balances local impact with regional and national transportation needs. There will be a few exceptions- Ill note those as I go along.
