Im going to rant for a second: First off: To my Big Island people who were affected by this storm. I love you all... Sorry for any hardships yall are dealing with... And to the rest of the Hawaii people. I have been seeing a lot of snide attitudes on Facebook ( and in person) ... No one should be upset that we ( Oahu) didnt get hit worse than we did. I see a lot of attitudes another false alarm yada yada yada. The fact of the matter is, we live on a pacific island, where we have been incredibly blessed and lucky for many years ... But we wont always be that way. We are very overdue for something gnarly from Mother Nature. And bottom line... It will happen at some point here... Dont be so comfortable and ignorant that you think we are exempt from it. You should always have some prep ready... So that when it does happen we dont act like crazy people and buy all the water on the island and fight over top ramen! ( which I actually saw happening) I have family and friends that lost water, electric, roofs, etc... Luckily enough... We didnt lose lives... But a part of our state was affected, and once again we got lucky in Oahu. So just a thought for everyone to have some sympathy and for us all to learn a lesson.. And realize where we live ... Tsunamis, volcanos, earthquakes, hurricanes.... Just be aware that they are all possible and luck will run out one day. Be kind to each other and feel blessed... Stop complaining about mundane BS.... And be smart. Love going out to those who need it... Dont take our luck for granted, and dont underestimate the power of Mother Nature in Hawaii Nei. Pau.
