Im gonna piss off Kenny Averett by saying this, but I just cant seem to bring myself to enjoy FF7 anymore. Loved it as a kid, but it feels really bland today. The materia system punishes you for not grinding excessively to scratch out one or two AP per battle, and Cloud. Hear me out here. Cloud was weak. But thats what made him a good character. He overcomes his flaws to be great. SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE READING THIS WHO PLANS TO PLAY He steals his friends identity to avoid going insane, lies about his past, about being Tifas Childhood friend. They barely knew each other, she reveals that she went along with his story because he seemed to be hanging on by a thread mentally. At least if I remember correctly. He is a DEEPLY FLAWED character, and overcoming these flaws is what makes him a GREAT character. Sadly, the rest of the cast just isnt all that great. Gonna give a shout out to Mr. T....I mean Barrett, on bad character design. Cid and Cloud were probably the only two I really liked.
