Im home after a very long, very productive and very fun trip to NY. Been thinking about how much our life has changed this year. Ive been offered some incredible opportunities and am so thankful I grabbed on to them for this part of my ride. I get to train people in two very different roles with 2 very different companies. One of them is a corporate gig, people get that. Its a very comfortable conversation. The second business is way outside the box for some, the conversations are challenging sometimes so in response to a handful of people sharing with me recently that they are interested in what I do with Rodan + Fields but have a few hesitations before getting started, I thought I’d share how several of my business partners and I have overcome some of these hang-ups... and are settling in to a box outside the corporate gig. Hang-up #1: “I’m not a sales person…” OK, so I am one, but that isnt the final word, nor is it the norm. People who are passionate and who can talk about something that they love tend to do great in this biz. We get paid to talk, talk about an opportunity and about our award winning products both of which have made huge impacts on our life. If you fell in love with these products and your income and time freedom completely changed would you share that with people? When you buy a great new camera, get a great haircut or find a great sale on jeans, you would tell a friend about it, right? We are looking for people who enjoy helping others. People who are busy and good at what they currently do are exactly who we are looking for…being fun and friendly is of course a bonus! The majority of my successful team members have backgrounds in teaching, nursing, law, medicine, graphic design, marketing and PR, or are a stay at home mom … not a sales person. Hang-up #2: “I just don’t have the time…” I totally get that. Everyone has a million and 1 things on their plates…understood. Interestingly enough, this business is designed to work AROUND your life and ALL your other commitments and we love busy people because they know how to get things done! It’s the busy people in this company who are killing it! I work a full time job, travel for work, am on the board of a Construction industry association and have a number of health related apopintments I need to keep up. So, I have found that slotting in 15-20mins here and there during my day consistently is what it takes to build my business (aka lunch breaks, airport time, swapping a mindless tv show or wasting time on the internet for some laptop or phone time). This is not hard, its just small consistent efforts of doing a little bit each day and working it into your every day life. When I really asked myself, can I invest 10-12hrs/week (broken up) for my future…for a lifestyle that I get to design and for my family the answer was, heck yes! SO, no it’s not the people with all kinds of time on their hands that we’re looking for, it’s the busy people who get it done! Hang-up #3: “I don’t know anyone who would be interested…” Realllly?! Keep in mind it’s not just about who YOU know but it’s about whom everyone else knows too. If you can write down 10 names, I guarantee you can come up with 10 people that THEY know…there you go, that’s 100 people. Correct, this isn’t for everyone but you might be surprised who you come across who just might be looking for something exactly like this. I’m hear to tell you, it’s not all of my best friends and family who have joined me in business yet and I have an organization that spans over several states. Hang-up #4: “The investment is holding me back…” Keep in mind, all businesses have a start up cost and a cost to manage them. In our case you get to start a turn key business leveraging a household brand name for less than $1K, websites, marketing, advertising, back office are all set up for you. It is designed to help you become profitable in your first couple of months in business and I can coach and train you into this success if you’re motivated. It’s also risk free, our consultants enjoy the same 100% guarantee that our customers do…if you’re not completely satisfied or if you realize its not the right fit, you can be fully reimbursed. So- nothing to lose! Hang-up #5 “Skin care just isn’t my thing, I can’t see myself being passionate about it…” So what are you passionate about? Is it your family, going back to school, starting a foundation, more time, flexibility, volunteering in the community, adoption, pursuing art or music, real estate, travel…whatever it may be this can be the VEHICLE to THAT. When you think about it, do you think the person who invented toothpicks was passionate about a tiny wooden stick? Not likely... but he had a vision and looked at the big picture...he saw the demand in which to build a thriving business and create an opportunity for so many. A little on demand. First of all we are in the middle of the launch of our newest revolutionary product and when it rolled out to our customers yesterday, the system crashed before it even opened because of the enormous pent up demand...similar to the iPhone launch with miles and miles of lines out the door! Our target demographic is EVERYONE with skin... everyone is looking to take back their youth and we are offering REAL solutions to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots, redness, sensitivity, enlarged pores. Which means our products are not a luxury, they are a must. With a $3 Bil Anti-Age market and a $3 Bil at home skin care tool market, that puts us in a $6 Bil market! Hang-up #6 “Timing isn’t right for me…” For most people who have been successful in our business the timing wasn’t right at all, they just knew they didn’t want to miss out and resolved to “figure it out as they go”. I’m telling you that the timing is NOW…if you’re not the one telling your friends about it, they will be coming to you! There are SO many untapped markets across the US still that could be YOURS and then we will take Canada!
