Im home today, away from the buzz of work, feeding on the pages of Dr. Ben Carsons book, TAKE THE RISK. Lord, my mum knows how much I adore that man. Ive chewed all his books. Ive seen the movie adaptation of his book, GIFTED HANDS, twice. The book is sitting prettily on my bookshelf. Its one of the first books my son will read when he attains reading age. On page 18 he wrote, There are a lot of things in life beyond our human ability, knowledge, and control. But there is nothing beyond God. Yea, Ive read different versions of this statement, but it always feels reassuring to know that Im human, and that theres my God who can give the answers. Mmadu amachaghi ihe niile. On page 63 he wrote, The scientist who developed the Saturn 5 rocket, which launched the first Apollo mission to the moon, once said, You want a valve that doesnt leak, and you try everything possible to develop one. But the real world provides you with a leaky valve. You have to determine how much leaking you can tolerate. The peskiness of life. We all deal with it. In addition, Im enjoying learning a few new ords from his book; additions to my growing vocabulary. Amachaghim ihe niile. Great Friday it is.
