Im in a thread that really got me going. The thread basically said the 40 & under crowd are lazy and bumbs today. In a sense I get it and agree. However its our parents and grandparents who owe us an apology. They started the entitlement programs. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the New Deal, etc... They continually voted on both sides of the aisle for politicians who pandered the goodies to them. They were around for great industrial booms and bountiful employment and in turn allowed NAFTA and every other bogus deal that gutted the infrastructure of the US and its manufacturing disallowing the same for future generations. They let the abolishment of Glass Steagall happen and loosened lending standards which led to this entire economic crisis. Need I go on? Seriously this country is at least 17 trillion in debt under their stewardship. Im waiting for my apology and their expression of shame for leaving this to us and the younger generations. All I hear is crickets and hollers of dont touch my social security or Medicare I earned it! Just like the 20 & 30 somethings earned this mountain of debt?
