Im just about in tears watching this throwback of DFW Mass Choir from 1991. I was a freshman in high school and this was my favorite song to play...that intro was the lick back then...everybody played that. But my gets heavy to see my GOOD friend Ricky Womack Sr lead this...this man used to push me to play when I didnt even want to. One time I was at musical and he called me out of the audience to come play for him and I shook my head and pointed to the all the other musicians that was there that was way more advanced than me that could play for him and in the microphone he said I dont want them to play I asked you...now get yo Big Behind up here on this organ man I died laughing...he would speak his mind in a heartbeat and didnt care who didnt liked it. To know Ricky was to love him. He asked me to travel on the road with him and his group and I so scared of change back then but when I finally manned up to do it God called him home and I was so hurt and felt bad at the same time because he thought enough of me to even ask me... Ricky Womack Jr I thank God for your father and the things I learned from him. And to see Phillip Stewart directing the choir...oh man you talking about somebody that could wear an organ out!!! He had True Way C.O.G.I.C. jumping every Sunday...Hes gone on as well. And last but not least my dear friend/brother/mentor Daryl Mc Nealy on the bass. You talking about somebodys preacher, singer, organist, everything...when he was murdered in 1999 I was completely devastated...real talk...Dallas suffered a real big blow when we lost him...gone waaaaaay to soon. I thank God for allowing me to cross paths with these Giants...They are all truly missed!!!
