Im just going to put this out there about #MayorLutfurRahman & BBCs #Panorama about #TowerHamlets. For the record I am a proud member of the #LabourParty & always will be (not because of my local Labour party, but for the national party values). I didnt see the relevance of the show. Nor did I see any hard evidence of fraud or terrorism, all I saw was a local heros reputation being attacked just before new Mayoral elections. I feel he has done a good job & is trying to help local people. If anything this was the medias chance to make him justify everything, but he didnt even get the chance to speak out. What I do agree with is that there does need to be change & new officers (skilled & qualified) from the direct government to monitor the budgets so in the future opinions dont go so far. End of the day he is the only Asian Mayor in the UK so naturally all eyes will be on him whether through love, hatred or doubt. Tower Hamlets is the most culturally diverse society in the UK & a place where all races & faiths are accepted for who they are.
