Im just processing this... When you have black sons, as I do, you just cant afford not to be concerned by the way young black men are dying in the streets! And its not just about black on black crime! This country views black males in such a negative light that they feel like its not worth educating them, celebrating them or protecting them. There is simply not enough being invested in their lives!!! Period! Many of them are born again, spirit-filled believers who could be the next Billy Graham or Benny Hinn! They have a great seed of destiny within in them, but if no one cares enough to nourish that seed, how will they ever get to that place of Godly greatness??? Sadly, we see this apathetic attitude clearly displayed in the church, when so many major ministries would rather have meetings in Branson than the inner city of Baltimore where the greatest investment is needed! Or Ferguson for that matter??? Churches for decades have abandoned their inner city buildings where they started and run to the suburbs where its comfortable, then only go back to the hood to pass out food baskets during the holidays! So I have to ask, When did ministry become a vacation destination rather than a rescue mission to minister to the poor!!! Remember Isaiah 61??? Im just saying........
