Im not normally one for posting irrelevent material on a page with a certain cause, but I feel this may be of some interest to fellow Schapelle supporters. Several years ago I came across a photo of Rosleigh Rose relaxing on Kuta beach reading a book. The book was titled The innocent man written by John Grisham. Intrigued by anything the Corbys do, I looked into the book to gain more of an insight into what it was about. Im not into fictional books, so when I discovered this was a non fiction book based on a true story, I found myself eager to read it. As it turns out, the plight is tragically very alike the plight of Schapelle Corby. It tells the story of 2 American men by the names of Ron Williamson and Dennis Fritz who were falsely imprisoned (Sentenced to death) for the murder of a local woman in the town of Ada, Oklahoma where both men lived. The case against both men - like that of Schapelle - was built on bogus evidence and the testimonies of liars. While the book does go into detail about the plight of both men, Grisham seems to have focused more on the plight of Ron Williamson. Like Schapelle, Ron endured horrific human rights violations and suffered significant mental illness with symptoms very similar to what we saw of Schapelle throughout her ordeal. Without giving too much of the story away, both men were exonerated after spending 11 years on death row, but the damage to Ron Williamson had tragically taken its toll. Throughout the book, I found so many similarities in both Schapelles plight and that of the Ada murder. It really is a tragic reminder that too many innocent people have their lives turned upside down from being wrongfully convicted of a crime and I think its a stern reminder of why we support Schapelle.
