Im not one to poke people. Mainly because Im not really sure why people do it. Is it because youve noticed someones been offline and you poke them as a means to let them know their absence is missed? Is it a simple gesture thats intended to let someone know youve been thinking of them w/i going through the whole message thing? Or is it more of a personal, self-fulfilling kind of thing where you want to be poked back just because you want to be poked back? Please....dont get me wrong. Im not harping on the 100+ peeps Ive just noticed have pokedme. To be honest, its kind of nice to think I might have been missed. I mean, really - to say Ive been absent, offline, non responsive, and an all around basket case for the better part of a year would be a vast understatement, and ill go ahead and admit that discovering Id been poked so many times during my hiatus gave me somewhat of a warm, fuzzy feeling. But as i poked back, i noticed that 99% of the pokers, only poked - never sending so much as a simple hey via messenger. So why do you poke? Whats this poking thing all about anyway?
