Im reposting an article I wrote about volunteer extras since I seem to have sparked an interesting pool of questions surrounding my simple request for non-paid volunteer Extras. I must admit I was surprised by the concern comments, and negatives, when for many, it is an opportunity to step into an arena and test out the waters. I have worked on many production sets for free and have gained valuable experiences, and while I always pay my lead actors, there are often times when Extras are not paid monetarily, but the benefits they receive can often outweigh a small gas stipend.
