Im seeing lots of young dudes using this very heavy, very involved word to describe their (current) lady: PERFECT. And, as always, I have some thoughts. Ill share some here. 1. Youre freakin lying. You know homegirl isnt perfect. Homegirl knows shes not perfect. I get that you want to encourage her, and thus encourage your relationship, but you can do that without telling these tall tales all the time. 2. We all know that its folks imperfections that really connect us. I value characters in stories that exemplify the human condition. I value time with individuals who have weaknesses and issues. Its disarming, its beautiful, and it bonds all of us imperfect humans together. 3. Thats a scary word, yo. If somebody calls me perfect, Im just waiting for the moment I fall hard off that pedestal. That makes me not just nervous, but legitimately frightened. All Im saying is that If I were a girl, Id run from that crap and any dude who said it. But maybe thats why Im not a girl. Ha ha. Alright, alright. Im done. :)
