Im sitting at my desk full of rage after talking to another inside worker at OW and speaking with service users who have been impacted by the latest Liberal scandal. The Electronic system that rolled out and is a serious serious issue, not just for the workers but for the recipients of social assistance. I went on CUPE local 79s FB page and twitter and saw NOTHING about it and yet they represent indoor workers at OW who I know are struggling through and who are using 17 page tip sheets to make one referral that used to take a CLICK!!! Where are the locals representing these workers? Why is this not more in the media? The Liberals rolled this out right before Christmas when loads of workers are off. Im furious that the local presidents, especially CUPE 79 are saying nothing and not calling press conferences, organizing the workers who are calling in sick, are crying at their desks, are getting injured from repetitive clicking. This is outrageous and here is an opportunity to get rid of this new system and go back to the old one. Which, for sure, wasnt the best from what I heard but is nothing like the hell these workers are currently going through. $300 million wasted.
