Im so Beaumont I remember the game room by the store that was near the railroad track on the corner of Major Dr. and College near the big dirt pile across from Amelia Elementary. I still remember hearing Ill take you There on the jukebox. Calder being a 2 lane road all the way to I-10 from Major. Spending a lot of summers at my best friends Roy Dickerson house in Caldwood. Riding our bikes down the Linburgh overpass and coasting damn near all the way to Calder... Finding coke bottles on the side of the road and buying baseball cards with the money and being excited when I got an Astro player. Going to Amelia Little League games in the evenings before the fields had lights, Walking in the dark with my dad to Forest Park football games after halftime at the OLD school because we could get in for free. Eating a lot of Queen Burgers at the Burger Palace which was directly across the street from our house on Calder for 32 cents. Walking the railroad tracks from behind the Burger Palace all the way to Pinchback Rd and back without falling off,.. barefoot in the summer!
