Im so Benton... The world stopped on Friday afternoon and I walked to CW Lewis stadium with my Papa for all the games. Sharon Collatt twirled fire at half time and they turned off al the lights for the show. We also had box seats. Soda fountain at smith Caldwell downtown. Beautiful gifts and stationery at Waltons. all my clothes came from Jack and Jill, Gingles, the Style Shop ( Irma Dumas later) the fashion and the family shoe store( my papas). Western jeans came from sparks. We ate at Ed and Almas... Later Ed and Kays. and I had lunch at the counter at Bush drug store. El Cena was fancy.. And on the service road by the Troutt Motel. And of course the best and only pizza was poppalos. We banked at Benton State Bank and the Union Bank and the Savings and Loan. The courier carried all the news for benton and grandma wrote the column about the Sharon community. We swam at Longhills, swim lessons at Tyndall park and river excitement at Cecil Jones store and ten mile creek. Riding the power lines on the horses was big Sunday afternoon fun. Royal theater with mr, Kauffman. Who was certain to tell your parents if you missed behaved.. Franks bakery. Best cakes. The B&b grocery Mamies for westsiders and Curtiss for eastsiders, Thursday night post game dances at the park. And crossing the river bridge on our bikes at the end of river street. Ok... Im so benton!!
