Im so Washington, D.C. that I still call people slim and bama; I caught the 94 Metro bus from Souf East on Stanton Road all the way cross town to the Kalorama Road Skating Rink to see Rare Essence, EU and Chuck Brown at the go-go that started at midnight and ended at sunrise; I still stop downtown EVERY visit home to get a half-smoke; the Curtiss Brothers Big Chair is as much a monument to me as the Washington Monument; I worked at The General Store on 7th Street in China Town; I remember as a small kid my parents taking us to the designated Christmas shopping area for kids in Woodies downtown; Charley Taylor remains my favorite Redskin/football player of all time, with Sonny Jurgenson second.
