Im so excited!! Ive been given the honor & privilege to create an after school program for teenagers who are in the system where their parents have gotten their children taken from them & are trying to get their kids back. The place where Im currently volunteering does not have the program, but they are allowing me to develop a program via my political leadership class to give me hands on training IN leadership to create something real that can be implemented & benefit the teens in my own community! This weekend I have to put together a strategic plan for the after school program to teach them social skills/critical thinking skills that will empower them to handle the issues that are unique to the urban demographic. So, Id like to know from anyone that sees this post, what kind of subject matter do you think teenagers in this community could benefit from? Conflict resolution? Self-esteem tools? What type of social skills could help them? I want to really make a difference with this pilot program and your input is greatly appreciated! 1ove!
