Im so incredibly happy and sad about the fact that I am not - TopicsExpress

Im so incredibly happy and sad about the fact that I am not responsible for another soul on earths salvation. I used to carry a heavy burden, feeling like I needed to argue with people until I was blue in the face, or with tears streaming down my face, or spending sleepless nights with the weight of worrying about my loved ones and other people who did not believe in God or were not Christian (didnt accept the gospel of Jesus dying for their sins and the need to be saved from eternal damnation) it was as if we were all in the ocean like the titanic movie (without the freezing part lol) and many ppl were drowning I had the life preservers but they wouldnt take them! I hope this doesnt sound heartless, as Im sure some may conclude, thus some will say, sounding like a hypocrite having claimed to love all humans unconditionally (and I do) but the truth is each of us must make our own decision. It is my responsibility to love and also to show Gods love and also to tell others when I have the chance to do so, the good news, which is the gift of salvation. But when I found the scripture about if someone doesnt accept the gift, I was free to wipe the dust from my shoes and leave, I found that incredibly freeing for my mind. This doesnt mean I dont continue to show love, of course I do, and you should too! I do have to say I hate how much I fail at it, and how we misrepresent Jesus more often than not, but thats our human condition and we must continue to strive to do better, to die to self daily and let the Holy Spirit work through us. I also hate how I feel inadequate sometimes to explain/defend proof that God and the bible are truth as well as the gospel. (also because I am much better at writing than speaking lol, but I know how to quickly access proof I need thank God for internet (the good parts)) I know not everyone will agree with me but thats why I found the book, Blue like Jazz, so incredible! Because basically the author is saying, he may not be able to adequately prove everything we believe, left to our own devices, but we just do, and some of it is a mystery and more spiritual than intellectual and thats ok, thats special and though we know it all can be proven scientifically, thats not the best part for us, and also just loving , just loving, just loving.......is all we really need to do. God bless you and I love you all!
