Im still shaken by the visual of what happened...This evening as I was driving home from work, while traveling along East Capital St. at 50th St. NE, I witnessed a teenage male, who was running as he attempted to cross the street as cars traveled in both the east and west bound directions, get hit by a speeding vehicle that left the scene of the accident. The impact of the car and the young man colliding was indeed loud and was so forceful that the child was thrown a good distance from where the actual contact was made; one of his shoes was knocked completely off his foot! As a witness to the incident, I stayed on the scene. The young man was very badly injured. The police questioned me and others who witnessed the incident, then asked us to stay until the Special Operations Division Investigator arrived to question us more. Please pray for the young man, as the police say the EMT reports the young man has serious life threatening injuries. And, pray for me too!
