Im supporting Andy Zikne for Sheriff. Andy has progressed through the ranks in McHenry County and based on my conversations directly with him is an engaged, knowledgeable and passionate public official. For the past 3 years has served as Undersheriff in McHenry, overseeing a department with multiple workings (i.e. patrol, jail, bailiffs, courthouse security, administrative staff etc.) and more than 400 employees. His opponent, who by all accounts is an honorable man, is a former Des Plaines Sergeant and has served in different capacities, but to the best of my knowledge has not overseen a department nearly the size and complexity as the McHenry County Sheriffs Office. I am also extremely disappointed in the tenor and tone that Mr. Prim and his supporters have taken in this campaign, including brutal personal attacks against Mr. Zinke and his family, leveling of unfounded and malicious charges and acting in a way that flies in the complete opposite direction of bringing honor, dignity and public trust to the MCSO, as is Mr. Prims Campaign Slogan.
