Im sure no one will be surprised that Wal-Marts service is pitiful, yet I do shop there. Why, prices are lower. I take my work car there for oil changes and also have bought tires there for the last 15 years. In fact I bought two front tires from them about 3 weeks ago. on Friday of this week I took my car to Midas to check the front brakes. After they checked the brakes, they brought the front lug nuts in to me and said the threads were striped out in 5 of them. They said whoever put the tires on did not check to make sure the threads were not crossed before tightening. I paid for the replacement which was about $40. I decided to take the bill to Wal-Mart thinking they would reimburse me or give me a store credit. Well, the manager said they would give me the $40, but said I would have to sign a form stating that I could never bring my car in for service there again. So I am penalized for their mess up! Before I left, I gave the manager some advice on public service. I said here is how this should have been handled. I come in with complaint. Manager should say... Mr customer, I am so sorry for your inconvenience. I dont know for sure if our tire tech damaged the lug nuts on your car, but we value you as a longstanding customer. We will gladly issue a you a store credit. Result.... Happy customer, continued oil change service, and tire service, and more profit for Wal-Mart.
