Im sure that there are a few 60s anti-war activists among my friends. We are getting a bit long in the tooth, and many of our comrades abandoned the cause once they were no longer at risk of being drafted and dying in Viet Nam. I lost six friends to that war. I was in the streets. I ran draft resisters to Canada. I was beaten by the LAPD. I burned my draft card. I was a federal fugitive! We won. We got out of Viet Nam. But our generation gave us Reagan, Bush, Iraq, Afghanistan. I will keep fighting the Conservatives until they kick the dirt in on me. But the war Im fighting now is the one humanity is waging against animals.
